PRO-MASTER 7018 – Efficiency and High Performance


The new PRO-MASTER 7018 of HOLZ-HER, Germany, offers a series of interesting new features. Of particular note are the longer, 1250 mm consoles between the stops in the Y-direction. The additional space allows two workpieces to be positioned. Together with the double positioning in the X-direction and a 3-field safety mat (optional) as a prerequisite for pendular machining, the PRO-MASTER 7018 achieves a high production rate. The new length dimension of 1,250 mm is achieved with all vertical drilling and cutting units. A processing height of up to 180 mm is possible for the workpieces.
The large X motion paths (2500 and 3200 mm) allow processing of large surfaces. In combination with the tool changers – moving changer for 18 tools and/or pick-up changer for 12 tools – this system offers realization of a variety of easy solutions for furniture construction.
The machining head is equipped with a high performance 11 kw cutter with hybrid bearings and a speed of up to 24,000 rpm. The HSK collet chucks provide an accurate hold on the tools even at high feed rates. This results in high productivity in combination with short acceleration paths. Various drilling units with up to 24 spindles are available for rational drilling. The new design of the entire machining head has been laid out to ensure that the chips are evacuated very effectively by the evacuation unit in a U-shaped enclosure around all attachments.
The high quality of the ground and hardened V-guides with steel strap covers guarantee high production precision in continuous operation as well as a long service life.

The control equipment includes the CAMPUS package with integrated CabinetControl software. This package provides all prerequisites for effective machining and convenient operation – such as barcode interface, hand-held control and import capabilities. The WorkCenter shows the occupancy of the machine table. Tools, drilling heads and routes are automatically optimised over the workpiece as a whole and the operating times are calculated. A full-fledged 2-D CAD system is also included as a standard feature. The machine is controlled by an industrial PC.
